Who Will Contest Tanahun-1 From Congress?

May 21, Kathmandu: After the same candidate for 7 consecutive times, the second-generation leader from Congress will now be the candidate in Tanahun Constituency-1 which has not been passed down.

President Ramchandra Paudel has been a candidate continuously since 1991 AD. He was defeated once and won six times. When he became a candidate, other aspirants had to be turned away from the ticket. Some leaders of the same region stood in the election from different constituencies. Now second generation leaders from Congress are lobbying for tickets in Tanahun-1 which became vacant after Poudel became the President.

The government has decided to hold by-elections on April 23 in all three vacant regions of Nepal including Tanahu. Candidates aspirants have increased in Tanahun. Central member Govind Bhattarai, who showed a strong candidacy during the elections held in November, is the main contender now.

Central member Dhruv Wagle, Constituent Assembly member Ramchandra Pokharel, Gandaki Province Working Committee member Lakshmi Acharya, former chairman Raghunath Paudel, regional chairman Shyam Maurty, former minister of Gandaki province Dowate BK, former general minister of the Indian Union Deepak Bhattarai, Dr. Sesharaman Neupane and others have expressed their aspirations.

The leaders arrive daily to meet Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba with their hulls. According to sources, it is said that Deuba has already given the green signal to Bhattarai for the ticket. He has started attending public events regularly. Bhattarai area is concentrated.
