Second Booster Dose Should Be Administered In Lalitpur For Boosting Immunity To COVID-19 Disease

Mar 21, Kathmandu: The second booster dose is to be administered in Lalitpur to boost immunity to COVID-19 disease.

On Thursday and Friday, the Health Office Lalitpur will administer Pfizer-BioNTech Valent Adult Booster doses after identifying the risk groups in all wards of the district’s six local levels. According to Senior Public Health Administrator and Head of Health Office Lalitpur Satish Bista, who spoke at a press conference on Tuesday, the second dose of booster dose will be administered to elderly people over the age of 55 in all six local levels.

In the first phase of the campaign, frontline health workers, pregnant women, and citizens over the age of 12 with chronic diseases will be vaccinated. “In the first phase, we will give 31,000 vaccines on the 9th and 10th,” Bista said. 15,000 in Lalitpur Metropolitan Municipality, 5,724 in Mahalakshmi Municipality, 3,188 in Godavari Municipality, 886 in Mahankal Rural Municipality, 749 in Konjyosom Rural Municipality, and 490 in Bagmati are vaccinated with Pfizer “BioEntech Valent Adult Booster Dose”.

Bista said that the preliminary figure is that 64,000 people should be given booster doses in the district. He stated that all citizens over the age of 55 who have not worn the first booster will be given the second booster, and those who have worn the first booster for 6 months will be given the first booster.

According to Parthamani Neupane, Senior Officer of Health Office Lalitpur, the Mahankal Rural Municipality will conduct a booster dose program on March 24, 25, and 26 in order to participate in the regular vaccination program.
