Muscle Strains: What Are Reasons For Problem?

Mar 21, Kathmandu: Muscle strains can occur due to common causes. But because of this, you have to suffer a lot. While getting up, sitting, working, playing, and jumping, muscles can be torn unintentionally. It hurts people badly. It may take a long time to fully recover.

Why and how?

Our body 45 percent is occupied by muscles. It is a very soft fund that is on paper. It has fibers connecting each other, which are capable of stretching and shrinking.

But sometimes we do such physical activities which can tear the said muscle. If the posture of the body is not correct, the muscle may be strained due to pressure on one part. It can also be said as a point.

1. When lifting heavy weights

2. Doing vigorous exercise without a warm-up

3. When the seat is not available

4. When running or jumping

5. Obesity is not controlled

6. Not eating well and not getting enough sleep

7. Cause of accident

8. Hormonal disturbances during pregnancy

When lifting heavy weights, jumping, stretching too much, exercising, running, and playing, if our body posture is not correct then muscles can be torn. Due to obesity, body weight is more, which increases the risk of muscle tear. Likewise, people who do not eat properly and do not get enough sleep can also tear their muscles.

Which part of the muscle is torn?

The risk of tearing the calf muscle is especially high. Arm and back muscles can also be torn.

People who go to the gym, play sports, or jump can have this kind of problem with their ankles. Likewise, lifting heavy weights, lifting things, and sitting on a chair due to poor posture can tear the back muscles. Similarly, the flesh of the arm can be torn.

How do you know if a muscle is starin'?

Doctors classify muscle tears into three categories: mild, moderate, and severe.

Normal: In this, the muscles are only mildly sore and the muscles are working.

Moderate: It involves muscle pain, swelling, and sometimes redness like blood clots. And the muscles don't work as they say.

Hard: It is very swollen, painful redness along with the muscles stop working. The torn part of the muscle looks deep. Apart from this, the torn muscle can be clearly identified by doing video X-rays and MRIs.

Should I have surgery or will it be cured with medicine?

In normal and moderate cases, it can be cured by taking medicine but if the muscle is starin' then surgery is required. If it is normal or moderate, it starts to improve after 2-3 days of relaxing the muscles, wrapping ice in a cloth, tying it with an elastic bandage, and taking pain-free medicine for 2-3 days.

If the torn flesh is normal, it will heal in at least three weeks, if it is moderate, it will heal up to three months. Similarly, in hard cases, the flesh is too torn and medicine does not heal. It can be cured only by surgery.

How much does surgery cost?

It cannot be said that this is all that is required for surgery. It also depends on which part of the muscle is torn, how much it is torn, and when it is torn. Generally, government hospitals may cost from 10 thousand rupees to 1 lakh rupees.
