Mar 23, Kathmandu: In West Nepal's old Angik campus of Tribhuvan University i.e. Mahendra Multipurpose Campus in Ghorahi has the panel for  New Student Union(NSU) has won except for one member.

In the election held on Wednesday, NSU Manoj DC was elected as the president of ISU defeating Himal Mahara the candidate of Akhil United. He won by getting 1 thousand 96 votes. His nearest rival Akhil United candidate Mahara got 620 votes. On campus, the UML was closely aligned with the All-Revolutionaries, the All-Revolutionaries, and the National People's Front.

In the same way, Khum Bahadur KC (Khuman) of Akhil Krantikari, close to Biplava, got 124 votes for the chairmanship. Similarly, Muskan Pokhrel of the National Democratic Student Organization got 28 votes, Abhishek Bishta from the independent student group got 130 votes and Sevak Bhattarai of Aneraswaviyu Sixth (Revolutionary) got 45 votes.

Basant Bhandari of NSU has won the post of secretary by getting 955 votes. His competitor Ravibhakt KC of Akhil Samyukt got 583 votes. Mamta KC of Navy Sangh also won as treasurer by getting 996 votes. While Sagar Pandit of Akhil United got defeated by getting 694 votes.

Among the members, Basant Kadel, Suresh Pokhrel, Bivek Khanal, Jeevan DC, Anish Kumar Choudhary, Ramila Choudhary, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and Savin Pokhrel from  All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) have won. Although there was a schedule to hold the election of the ISU on March 19 due to the lockout by Akhil revolutionaries near the revolution, the election was held on March 22 at Mahendra Multipurpose Campus.

Among 5,940 voters on campus, 2,132 votes were cast. The campus established in the year 2016 is the oldest and the oldest campus of the Savik Rapti zone. Current Vice President Nandkishore Pun, Communications and Information Technology Minister Rekha Sharma, former Urban Development Minister Metmani Chaudhary, and Congress leader Khum Bahadur Khadka studied in the said campus.
