Mar 23, Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has announced the establishment of a permanent journalism development fund for the professional and physical security of journalists and all types of media.
He made the announcement while addressing the program of the Community Radio Broadcasters Association on Thursday. He said that the health, accident and riot, and terror insurance of all journalists will be run on small investments and a journalism development fund of the permanent trend will be established for the operation and stability of Mofsal's media.
He expressed his commitment to providing facilities by targeting mass media to the population living in the respective geography, national, regional, or local non-profit or commercial media, and self-employment classified on the basis of small, medium, and large investments.
Prime Minister Dahal informed that the government is committed to establishing mass media training institutes at the federal and state levels to enhance and update the skills and competencies of media workers and inspire them to the highest professional practices.
He said, "The current government is committed to issuing an inclusive, democratic information and communication policy by recognizing the media as a national service industry and taking a policy of protection and promotion to increase the access of all classes, regions, castes, languages, and communities to the mass media."

Prime Minister Dahal said that even though the constitution of Nepal delegates the responsibility of radio operator and regulation to the union, state, and local levels, the policy and legal provisions are not sufficient for the effective implementation of the single and common rights list provided in the constitution.

CPN (Unified Socialist) Vice President Rajendra Prasad Pandey has asked to increase domestic production. He said this while addressing the program of the Community Radio Broadcasters Association on Thursday. Vice President Pandey said that Nepalis prefer foreign products over domestic products and emphasized that community radio should carry out a campaign to promote indigenous products.
He said that all Nepalis should increase the use of indigenous materials while mentioning that billions of trade losses were caused by prioritizing foreign products. Pandey said, 'Community radios should be saved. I am ready to help with this. Today we need to focus on loving our indigenous products. Community radio should promote the campaign to use indigenous products. Vice President Pandey pledged his full support and cooperation in making the law related to radio. Nepali Congress General Minister Gagan Kumar Thapa also spoke at the event.
