Addressing the state-level ex-servicemen conference at West Pritna headquarters in Pokhara's Phulbari, Sharma said that there is unrestrained propaganda about the Nepali Army through various media and social networks.

He said that along with various information related to the Nepali Army, welfare works and funds are also published on the website. He said that the welfare fund was used to provide facilities to the beneficiaries in terms of education, health, self-employment and even if it was to a limited extent. Sharma said that he is being very sensitive to utilizing the funds of the fund.

 He informed that now 73 billion rupees are in the welfare fund of the Nepali Army and they are spending 133.37 million rupees from the interest. Commander-in-Chief Sharma said that the Nepali Army is bringing in 220 million US dollars a year into Nepal by going to the peacekeeping force. In this way, he claimed that the Nepalese army has helped Nepal's economy by bringing in 22 to 33 billion rupees of foreign currency every year.

Sharma said that various welfare programs have been conducted to help 1 million beneficiaries. He also said that a large amount of the welfare fund was spent in the education sector.

Stating that the funds are being spent on education as the first priority, Commander-in-Chief Sharma mentioned that arrangements are being made for education even in places where there are no military schools. He said that they are going to build a gifted school for differently abled children of Nepali army personnel.

Sharma informed that the Nepali Army is going to operate its own medical college and engineering college this year. According to the policy of opening one hospital in every province, a military hospital is also under construction in Butwal, he said.
