Coach Monty Desai Salary Has Been Increased By CAN

Mar 24, Kathmandu: The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has increased the monthly salary of Monty Desai, the Indian coach who has improved the performance of the Nepali national cricket team and won it in the last 3 series by 20 percent.

According to the contract, Monty used to get 10,000 US dollars in salary, but after the increase, he will get 12,000 US dollars monthly salary. It is said that he will get an increased salary from the April 1. Can have increased Monty's salary almost two months after he was appointed as the coach of the Nepali team.

According to CAN sources, at the time of the agreement, there was an agreement to increase the salary of the coach if Nepal managed to maintain the ODI status. According to the source, Monty after taking over the Nepali team, managed to maintain Nepal's ODI status and also lead to the World Cup qualifiers, so his salary has been increased as promised.

He was appointed as the head coach of the Nepali team on February 6. He had already started training the team before he was officially appointed. The Nepali team under his training played two one-day series at home and one in UAE under the World Cup League-2. Out of which, both the series played at the home ground was swept clean by Nepal. Nepal was able to win 3 out of 4 matches in the series in UAE which means Nepal has won 11 matches out of 12 matches played in his training.
