Meeting of Congress office bearers for by-elections and ministerial selection begins

Mar 25, Kathmandu- The official meeting of Nepali Congress has started. The office bearer meeting started at the residence of Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Dhumbarahi.

The meeting was called to discuss current political issues including by-elections and ministerial selection. The office-bearer's meeting was held with the by-elections to be held in Bara, Tanahun, and Chitwan on the 10th of Baisakh.

It is said that today's meeting will decide on matters including the criteria of who will be nominated from the party in those areas. The Congress has instructed the regional, district, and state working committees to recommend names in preparation for picking up candidates for Tanahun and 1 and Chitwan 2.

JSP president Upendra Yadav is going to be a candidate in Bara 2. The ruling coalition is going to support him.

In the meeting, Chairman Deuba will also give a briefing about the preparations for the expansion of the government and the ongoing discussion with the Prime Minister.

Congress is claiming eight ministries in the government. It is said that the issue of which ministry to take and who will be made a minister will be discussed today.
