TikTok CEO before US Congress

The American government has been claiming that TikTok is dangerous for the national security of its country. TikTok has already been banned on government phones and now the demand to ban Tiktok is becoming widespread across the country.

Some Western countries, including the US, have been claiming that the Chinese social media app Tiktok is providing user data to the Chinese government and the Chinese military. Amidst these accusations, Tiktok CEO Shou Ji Chew had to appear before the US Congress and answer questions on Thursday.

During the four-hour-long hearing, Chew repeatedly repeated that Tiktok would not give any user data to the Chinese government. He also said that Tiktok will not pose any threat to the 150 million American users and it will not share its data with the Chinese Communist Party.

He claimed that the accusations that Tiktok is dangerous and dangerous to security are only imaginary and theoretical and there is no evidence about it.
