26 Parties Registered For By-Elections From Bara-2 And Tanahun-1

Mar 27, Kathmandu: 26 political parties have been registered for the by-elections of Bara-2 and Tanahun-1 to be held on April 23.

Although 117 political parties are registered with the Election Commission, only 26 parties are registered for the by-elections of Bara and Tanahun on April 23. The commission had announced the by-election date for Baisakh 10 with Ramchandra Poudel elected from Tanahun-1 and Ramsahay Yadav elected from Bara-2 as president and vice president.

Similarly, Rabi Lamichhane who lost his position as an MP in the citizenship dispute has already announced by-elections in Chitwan 2 on April 23. There are 18 parties in Chitwan-2. The Election Commission had given the registration time from March 22 to 26 for the purpose of participating in the by-elections. The commission said that the results will be announced within a week after the voting in all three areas.
