Metered Badge Victim Reached Kathmandu After For Twelve Days

Mar 27, Kathmandu:  After 12 days of walking from Bardibas in Mahottari, the meter bus victims are arriving at Maitighar in Kathmandu today. 85 meter-busting victims arrived at Matatirtha in Kathmandu on Sunday via Chandranigahpur, Hetauda, Bhimfedi, and Chandragiri.

They stayed in the temple of Matatirth and went to Maitighar after having breakfast. They are 92 people, including 85 meter-busting victims and 7 leaders, and are preparing to start a sit-in at Maitighar Mandla today. After walking for eleven days, they reached the federal capital, sitting on bamboo in public places including schools, hospices, and ward offices.

They are prepared not to return until their demands are met. Prior to this, the then Sher Bahadur Deuba government formed a task force to conduct an investigation after continuous protests by meter badge victims in May and July.

After the agreement reached with the government on October 1, their protest was suspended. However, after the agreement was not implemented, they started agitating again.
