Prime Minister Dahal Visited The Zoo After 30 Years

Mar 27, Kathmandu- On Monday, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) visited and inspected the Sadar Zoo located in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur. Dahal arrived here along with his daughters Renu Dahal and Ganga Dahal along with the members of the Secretariat.

Dr. Naresh Subedi, director of the National Nature Conservation Fund informed that Dahal visited the zoo like a normal citizen without making any fuss. During this, Prime Minister Dahal had earlier recalled that he visited the zoo 30 years ago.

Dr. Subedi informed that Prime Minister Dahal expressed his happiness about the management of wild animals in the zoo.

During the observation, he mentioned that he likes tiger and rhinoceros very much and inquired about them with the staff. He also asked about all the wild animals kept in the zoo. Dr. Subedi informed that there are currently five tigers and three male rhinos in the zoo.

They emphasized that the zoo is small and should be made of international standards. In response, Prime Minister Dahal has assured that he will understand this and will call the office for more information.

There are more than one thousand wild animals of one hundred and two species in Sadar Zoo. Nature Conservation Fund Member Secretary Sharad Adhikari, Director Dr. Chiranjibi Pokharel, Zoo Chief Rachana Shah and other employees of the Fund welcomed Prime Minister Dahal.
