Nepali Students Leaving For Abroad To Study Has Been Increased

Apr 7, Kathmandu:  In recent times, students' interest in studying abroad has started to increase. According to the statistics of the Foreign Study Permit Branch of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, 80,000 Nepalese students have obtained a permit i.e. No Objection Certificate (NOC) to study abroad from last July to April 5.

The branch has arranged online application for NOC. On the same day as the online application is received, the registration will be done and the NOC will be issued on the next day. Foreign Study Permit Branch Deputy Secretary Basudev Basti informed that 529 applications were accepted out of 699 online applications received on Thursday alone.

According to him, 500 applicants whose applications have been approved will receive NOC letters today. According to the foreign study permit branch, 1,696 in May 2022, 4,56 in May, 3,19 in June, 5,341 in July, 5,860 in August, 4,963 in October, In October, 3,757 people, 5,695 in December, 7,85 in January, 9,513 in January, 13,972 in February and 16,348 in March received Study Permits (NOCs) for foreign studies.

In May this year, 15,771 and 14,613 people have taken study permits for studying abroad. The number of people going to Australia, Japan, America, and Canada for studies is more. Currently, on average, 600 people are applying for foreign study permits, the branch said. The NOC has claimed that since the time of online application, registration, and getting NOC has been informed to the concerned students, the number of queues has decreased and the service delivery has become easier and faster.
