Myanmar Army Airstrike Kills 53

Apr 12, Kathmandu: At least 53 people have been killed in Myanmar military airstrikes. The BBC reported that several others were injured in an airstrike in Pajigi, a town considered to be the center of military "coup" opponents.

Locals and eyewitnesses called this attack the deadliest attack since the military coup. The military attack took place when the rebel group engaged in the anti-government struggle was gathering for the opening ceremony of an administrative office. The Myanmar army has not yet responded to the attack.

Myanmar's military coup leader Min Aung Hwain last month warned of decisive action against "terrorists" fighting against his rule.

In Myanmar, the military overthrew the elected government of the Aung San List Party on February 1, 2021. Since then, thousands of people have been killed and thousands have been injured in various demonstrations, and a large number have been arrested. Meanwhile, more than 1 million people have been displaced.
