Apr 16, Kathmandu: The Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Leela Giri has said that it is not relevant to oppose federalism without completing two terms.
Inaugurating the 24th Annual General Meeting of Press Chautari Nepal Rupandehi in Butwal on Saturday, Chief Minister Giri argued that it is not appropriate to oppose federalism without sufficient examination and without any basis.
He said that opposing federalism is unreasonable. He said - "It has been barely six years since the country started practicing federalism, this government system has not even completed two terms, it is not relevant to say that federalism has failed because it has not been adequately tested."
Chief Minister Giri also claimed that foreign interference in the country is increasing and nationality is in crisis. He claimed that even the fourth-level media of the state, which has the responsibility of making citizens aware, is not in favor of nationalism.
Chief Minister Giri complained that the media has an important responsibility when the nation is in crisis, but the media is not realizing its duties and responsibilities. He also urged the media workers to use their pen against the powers that benefit from the country's instability.
He said - "There is a feeling that some political parties have started working for the interests of others rather than for the country and the people. If the country is to be saved, the increasing distance between the parties should be reduced. It is important for political parties to be aware of that."
