By-Elections Will Be Held Again if Chitwan Results Are Repeated: UML Secretary Bhattarai

Apr 16, Kathmandu:  CPN (UML) secretary Yogesh Bhattarai has said that if the past results are repeated in Chitwan by-elections, by-elections will be held again.

In a press conference organized by Press Chautari Chitwan in Bharatpur on Sunday morning, he said that if National Independent Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane wins, there will be another by-election, so the voters should consider it. He said "Chitwan area no. Don't let there be a by-election in 2." On the basis of which by-elections are being held now, the situation of re-election is created on that basis.

Secretary Bhattarai said, "Why was the by-election held? Even today, that base is still alive." Due to the qualification set by the constitution and laws of Nepal to be a member of the House of Representatives, it is almost certain that if the old results are repeated, there will be a by-election.

Lamichhane insisted that he had to spend five years atoning for his mistakes as he had deceived the state and society. "People can make mistakes in a civilized society. There is also an apology for that mistake. But in a civilized society, it is a great crime to manipulate the society.”

Stating that Lamichhane did not make a mistake, he cheated, he said, "He cheated the society and the state." The whole country has been deceived. The Constitution, the law has made up all these things. Therefore, he should spend five years atonement for lying. Trying to cheat again."

In the program, he expressed his concern that the government could not work according to the people's wishes. He said that the inability to spend on development and revenue collection is the weakness of the government.

According to the target taken by the state, the state of revenue collection has not been achieved, how can it be achieved when there are three months left to the end of the financial year, he said? He said that the reason for the government's failure to spend on development is that it is clear about the working style of the state.

He said that the government is apathetic to lift the country out of the economic crisis, but he said that there is no environment to do business by taking loans even if the bank has money.
