Man Died In Chitwan, One Seriously Injured When A Truck Hit A Scooter

May 21, Kathmandu- One person was killed when a truck carrying a cooking gas cylinder hit a scooter in the Tikauli forest on East-West Mahendra Highway on Sunday afternoon. Chitwan District Police Office informed that another person was seriously injured in the incident.

According to DSP Bijay Raj Pandit, spokesperson of the police office, the driver of the scooter is 20-year-old Sagar Tamang, a resident of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-11. Similarly, 20-year-old Bishanta Dhakal of Bharatpur-11, who was sitting behind the scooter, was seriously injured.

DSP Pandit said that around 12:15 PM on Sunday, a gas cylinder truck No. 4 B 6674 coming to Bharatpur from Ratnanagar Tandi in Tikauli Jungle area of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-12 hit a scooter No. 03-002P 7688 of Wagmati Pradesh coming from the same direction. After the collision, the truck also overturned on the side of the road.

DSP Pandit said that the scooter driver Sagar Tamang, who was brought to the hospital for treatment with serious injuries, was declared dead by the doctor at 12:30 noon. The truck driver, 50-year-old Dhak Bahadur Gurung, resident of Ghumana Municipality-4, Tanahun District, has been detained by the police.
