Jun 08, Kathmandu- Chairman of CPN (UML) KP Sharma Oli has sarcastically said that there is no typist in the Ministry of Finance. In the meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Oli satirized the Finance Minister by saying that there is no person to type the budget decision in the Ministry of Finance.
"In these years, people have come to build airplanes, people to fly them, people to make computers, people to operate them, people have reached the level of artificial intelligence, there is no person to enter data here," Oli said.
He further said, "President Jee has kept 10 Congress leaders in a tizzy by giving them ministerial privileges. There is no typewriter in the Ministry of Finance. The Minister of Finance has only one typewriter. What should he do?"
The parties including the UML raised questions about the involvement of the former Deputy Subba Ramakrishna Shrestha in the preparation of the budget. In response, Finance Minister Mahat said that he had less time to prepare the budget and after the team suggested that Ram Krishna Shrestha was a qualified, experienced, and skilled person, he asked him to do the data entry. Mahat said, "Since I don't have time in two months, we made the person who believed in the system to type."
