Jun 15, Kathmandu- Two miners have died of suffocation in the Samangan province of Afghanistan. Another 35 people were unconscious in the incident.
An Afghan news agency reported that the incident took place at Merak Dahane coal mine in Dara-i Sufi Bala District of Samangan province.
The governor of Dara-i Sufi Bala, under the administration of the Taliban, Mohammad Nasim Khyber Sekan, said that the coal mine is uncommercial. He said that the incident happened due to Non-Adherence of safety measures. All those who are sick are being treated at local hospitals.
Earlier, a laborer died of suffocation in a coal mine in Baghlan province in Afghanistan last Saturday. Another person was unconscious in the incident.
Security officials said that the incident took place when toxic gas leaked while working in a coal mine in Tala Wa Barfak district.
