Jul 09, Kathmandu- Ministers, leaders, well-wishers and artists have paid their last respects to the late singer and actor Robin Tamang.
Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati draped the national flag over his body, which was kept for last respect at the Nepal Music and Drama Academy. Other artists present paid their respects to Tamang by offering flowers.
In the program, Minister Kiranti said that after the death of the martyrs, there was no proper place to pay homage, and he said that he would build a proper building during his tenure.
Communication and Information Technology Minister Rekha Sharma, who was also the spokesperson of the government, expressed her condolences on behalf of the government, saying that the art sector has lost a bright star.
Congress General Minister Gagan Thapa said Tamang was a famous singer of the contemporary generation and said that he was saddened to lose him.
In honor of singer Tamang, a tribute was given by singing two of his famous songs 'Ketaketi' and 'Gulabko'. Fans and artists reached the premises of the academy in Naxal in the early morning to pay their respects. Musician Chetan Sapkota informed that the tribute program was organized by the Musicians Association and Academy.
Robin Tamang's body is scheduled to be cremated today at Shobha Bhagwati.
Last Tuesday, Tamang was found dead in his residence in Budhanilkanth. His contribution to the music of the Nepali rock genre is considered incomparable.
