Less than a year after the European Union passed the policy of implementing USB-C on smartphones, tablets, digital cameras, portable speakers, and other devices by 2024, Apple is about to prepare a universal charging system for the iPhone.

Especially when the consumer buys a new device, he has to buy a new cable and charger. In view of the problem of increasing electronic waste and increasing the financial burden on consumers, the European Union brought a policy to make USB-C a universal charging system.

CCS Insight analyst Ben Wood also said that this policy of the European Union forced Apple to change the design it has been following for years. Thus, Apple has already implemented the USB-C charging system on devices including MacBook and iPad. Still, the company resisted making the switch to the iPhone.

Later, after the European Union warned of bans, Apple backed down from its decision. Last year, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing, Greg Joswiak, made a statement that the lightning charger was designed to fast charge devices in public spaces.

"But we must accept the policy of the EU," he said at a public ceremony. "We have no other choice", Joswiak said at the time, "This concept has been brought in keeping in mind the environment and consumers. We do this with self-satisfaction.
