Teachers Mass Movement: Lack Of Formation Of Negotiation Team Lead Delay In The Negotiations

Sep 22, Kathmandu- The agitating teachers have prepared to form a negotiation team to negotiate with the government. At the meeting of the movement mobilization committee, a negotiation team will be formed and formal talks will be held with the government.

Gangaram Tiwari, Chairman of the Nepal School Staff Council, said that preparations are being made to form a negotiation team for that purpose. Chairman Tiwari said that preparations are being made for negotiations with the government today by forming a negotiation team on behalf of the teachers.

The government has formed a negotiation team under the coordination of Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha. Teachers have also been formally invited to come to the talks. However, since the negotiation team could not be formed, the negotiations could not be held formally.

This afternoon, officials of the Nepal Teachers' Federation and representatives of the protesting teachers' union organized a discussion with the Secretary of Education. During the discussion, there was a discussion about the demands raised by them and how to present those issues.

Chairman Tiwari said that during the discussion, the views of the government and their bottom line were discussed between both parties.
