Sep 26, Kathmandu- The Nepali Congress parliamentary party has discussed with the concerned parties the school education bill registered in the House of Representatives and the agreement with the teachers.
The party's Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba, Deputy Chairman Purna Bahadur Khadka, General Minister Gagan Thapa, Chief Whip Ramesh Ulakar, and other MPs were present in the ongoing discussion at the International Conference Center.
Nepal Teachers Federation and its constituent organizations, Private and Residential Schools Organization Nepal (PABSON), Higher Education and Schools Association (HISAN), National Private and Residential Schools Association (NPABSON), Heads and representatives of Community School Management Committee Federation, Nepallait also participated.
The chief whip author expressed his commitment to play a role in revising the bill based on the suggestions of the stakeholders. Expressing their dissatisfaction with the bill, the Nepal Teachers' Association reached a six-point agreement with the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology after protesting on the streets centered on Kathmandu from Ashwin 3rd to 5th.
The relief teachers are still in the movement. The bill was registered in the House of Representatives on Bhadra 27, and will be presented in the next sitting of the Parliament.
