Sep 28, Kathmandu- The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, has emphasized that since the right to information is an integral part of democracy, it should be strengthened.

Inaugurating the first national conference organized by the National Federation for the Right to Information in Kathmandu on Thursday, Speaker Ghimire emphasized that the right to information is important to make public bodies accountable to the people and as it is an integral part of democracy, it should be strengthened.

He said that the right to information is important to make use of the provisions in the law while there is still a lot of work to be done to legalize the provisions of the constitution.

Similarly, Speaker Ghimire insisted that the right to information has inspired the public bodies to work in a transparent manner in order to move the country towards progress.
