Sep 29, Kathmandu- Keshav Tamang has been arrested with 3 kg of smuggled gold in Dolakha. Tamang was arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police and the team of the District Police Office Dolakha.
Recently, smugglers are taking new routes after smuggled gold has been caught at the airport. Keshav Tamang was arrested from Jamune in Dolakha on Friday along with 3 kg of the 7 kg of gold smuggled from China.
According to CIB, another 3 kg of gold was found during a search in another room near the room where 4 kg of gold was hidden. 5 people from the same village were arrested with 4 kg of gold from Dolakha on Thursday. The police speculated that the smuggled gold may have entered through the Chinese border through a long route. The arrested accused are being investigated for organized crime.
Raj Tamang from Buddh in Kathmandu has been arrested for his involvement in this case. He was arrested by the team of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office. According to the head of Crime Investigation Office, Somendr Singh Rathore, he was detained based on the statements given by the 5 people who were arrested earlier. The police suspect that this group may have smuggled a large amount of gold.
