Sep 30, Kathmandu- Taking a historic step towards deepening the relationship between Nepal and India, a high-level Indian academic delegation has come to Nepal under the leadership of Lucknow University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Rai.
The purpose of this representative body is to organize bilateral educational and cultural workshops with some higher education institutions in Nepal.
On the first day of this important event, the delegation had an in-depth discussion with the Vice-Chancellors of Lumbini University and Rajarshi Janak University. After that discussion, an educational and cultural agreement was signed with Rajarishi Janak University, Quest International College Kathmandu, Kathmandu Don Bosco College, and Nobel College of Pokhara. In these agreements, it is emphasized that the students of both countries will be mainstreamed.
Referring to the deep and spiritual relationship between India and Nepal, Prof. Alok Kumar Rai said, "Nepal-India relationship touches the soul of two nations, and our education is a continuous bond of human resources and collective consciousness". It has also announced the establishment of an India-Nepal laboratory for scientific policy making.
The affiliated institutions showed welcome and dedication to the ideas presented by the representatives of Lucknow University covering education, science, and cultural partnership. A wide network of Indian educational institutes, strong alumni links, were acknowledged, which would prioritize strong people-to-people ties between the two countries.
Under the vision policy of 'Neighbourhood First', Lucknow University launched 'Horizon Coordination 1.1'. This initiative reiterates our commitment to positive cooperation with our Nepalese partners. Prof. Rai has started credible training programs and workshops with his Nepali colleagues to enhance their skills and knowledge.
It is believed that this important step in educational and cultural cooperation will only strengthen the relationship between Nepal and India and it is said that it will mark the beginning of a new era of social agreement and common progress.
