Congress Leader Gurung, Who Made The Audio Of Giving Rs 2 Crore To Arzu, Expelled From The Party

Oct 01, Kathmandu- Nepali Congress has taken action against Prakash Gurung, President of Phidim Municipality.

The Disciplinary Committee of the Congress has punished Gurung for three years by not even being a member of the party. Disciplinary committee coordinator Anand Prasad Dhungana has issued a statement announcing that Gurung has been expelled from the party.

After Gurung's telephone conversation with district joint secretary Santosh Shrestha before the 2074 local-level election was leaked on June 13, the district working committee meeting of the Congress asked for an explanation from both of them.

In the audio dialogue, it was revealed that there was a transaction of 2 crores with party chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba's wife Arju Rana to get a ticket for the post of mayor in Phidim municipality.

There was an accusation against Gurung that he was biased and made public by recording audio and video in a defamatory manner after he did not get a ticket because Gurung himself was an aspirant for mayor in the local level election.
