Oct 02, Kathmandu- The leaders of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) met President Ram Chandra Paudel on the occasion of the Constitution Day and expressed their serious concern about the amnesty granted to the people who are serving prison terms in the case of killing on duty.
Leaders including Chairman Rabi Lamichhane expressed their displeasure at President Paudel's amnesty for those involved in heinous crimes. In the meeting at Sheetal Niwas, President Paudel reminded that the names of 24 people recommended by the government had been sent back. On the occasion of the Constitution Day, RSP Chairman Lamichhane raised an objection in the Parliament saying that amnesty was also granted to people serving prison terms for the crime of murder.
Meanwhile, the RSP is going to register a proposal of urgent public importance in the House of Representatives regarding amnesty based on political beliefs on the occasion of Constitution Day or Republic Day. MP Dangi did not inform that the proposal of urgent public importance is ready to be registered by Wednesday.
