36 Billion Of Remittances Received In Three Months

Nov 10, Kathmandu- In the first three months of the current financial year, more than 36 billion remittances have been received. According to the first quarter financial report released by Nepal Rastra Bank on Friday, the remittance inflow increased by 30.0 percent in the first three months and reached 65.34 trillion.

In the same period of the previous year, the remittance inflow increased by 16.8 percent. Remittance inflows in US dollars increased by 25.9 percent and reached 2.76 billion. Last year, such flow increased by 7.9 percent.

According to the bank, the number of Nepalese who took the final work permit (institutional and individual-new) for foreign employment during the review period is 113 thousand 397 and the number of those who took the work permit again is 49 thousand 297.

During the same period of the previous year, such numbers were 147 thousand 932 and 57 thousand 861 respectively.

During the review period, net transfer increased by 30.2 percent and reached 4 trillion 4 billion 4 billion. Such transfers increased by 17.1 percent during the same period of the previous year.
