Banke Police Open Fired To Arrest Akash Rana

Nov 17, Kathmandu- In Banke's Janaki Rural Municipality 4, the police fired a few shots and arrested one person.

30-year-old Akash Rana of Kohalpur Municipality-11 in Banke was shot and detained by the police. District Police Office Banke said that Rana was shot in the leg and he is out of danger now.

On the day of 'Tihar Tika', Min Bahadur BK was shot and seriously injured when he was attacked by a khukuri in Kohalpur. At the same time, after receiving information that he was hiding in Janaki village, the police came to arrest him. After he ran away, the police fired one round.

"They had to shoot while trying to arrest him," said DSP Narayan Dangi, spokesperson of District Police Office, Banke.

Akash Rana was released after 5 years in prison in a drug case. A police complaint has also been filed against him for forcing a 10-year-old girl on Kartik 28. He injured Min Bahadur BK around 3 pm on the day of Tihar Tika. As Min Bahadur could not be treated in Nepalgunj, he was taken to Lucknow, India.
