Confusion On Banning TikTok Being Discussed

Nov 30, Kathmandu- The Nepal Telecommunication Authority has instructed the internet service provider companies to respond within 24 hours as to whether or not TikTok has been banned in Nepal.

If the internet service provider company does not respond within 24 hours, the authority has warned that the license will be revoked. Two weeks ago, the government of Nepal decided to close the social network TikTok.

The notification issued by the Authority states, "Since there has been no response from the organization that has received permission to operate the Internet from the Authority, this notification has been published to inform within 24 hours whether the decision of the Authority has been implemented or not." The authority has informed that if the internet service provider company does not give any response within 24 hours, the process of canceling the license will be carried forward in accordance with the Telecommunications Act, 2053.
