Portfolio Performance Review Meeting Of Indian Embassy With Ministry Of Finance

Dec 01, Kathmandu- The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu and the Ministry of Finance of the Government of Nepal have completed the project portfolio performance review meeting.

The Indian team was led by Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava, while the Nepali team was led by Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the relevant ministries, departments and agencies of the Government of Nepal involved in the implementation of the project, as well as the relevant officers and employees of the Indian Embassy. In addition to various subsidized loans (line of credit), the two sides discussed the projects being implemented in various fields under the India-Nepal development cooperation framework with grant support.

In the meeting, possible areas of future cooperation between India and Nepal were also discussed. In the meeting, Ambassador Srivastava informed about India's strong development cooperation with Nepal and also said that the Government of India is committed to help Nepal in development cooperation and work with the Nepal government in accordance with the priorities set by the Nepal government in the future. Finance Minister Dr. Mahat praised the development assistance of the Indian government and highlighted the important role played by the Indian government in advancing Nepal's development efforts.

He said that the Government of Nepal is committed to further enhance this cooperation in other possible areas as well. India is Nepal's largest and most important development partner. The India-Nepal development partnership, which started in 1951, has expanded and continued in the past seven decades. The projects under development partnership are geographically spread across Nepal and are different in terms of size and area.
