Nine Thousand Earthquake Victims Received 22 Million

Dec 01, Kathmandu- An amount of Rs. 22 million nine lakh 75 thousand has been disbursed for eight thousand eight hundred and thirty-nine beneficiary families for the construction of temporary housing for the earthquake victims.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, a total of 11,997 beneficiaries have been verified till date. Dhurba Bahadur Khadka, spokesperson of the authority, informed the government that the process of disbursement of funds has already started for the rest of the verified beneficiaries.

Recently, the government has accelerated the disbursement of funds, the process of verifying the beneficiaries is continuing and the funds are being disbursed immediately for those who have been verified. According to spokesperson Khadka, as of Wednesday Rs 2 crore 53 lakh was disbursed and additional amount was disbursed on Thursday.

According to the information received from the authority, Rs. 28 lakh for 112 families out of 490 beneficiaries of Bajhang. Rs 21 crore 46 lakh 25 thousand for eight thousand five five 85 beneficiaries of Rukum West and Rs 35 lakh 50 thousand for the first installment for one hundred and 42 beneficiaries of Bajura.

For the beneficiaries of Jajarkot along with one thousand four hundred and 82 beneficiaries established in Salyan, the amount is yet to be disbursed. Spokesperson Khadka also informed that the distribution will be done quickly for the beneficiaries who have been established and for the beneficiaries who are yet to be established.
