Dec 01, Kathmandu- Watchman Dhan Bahadur, working in Rankali Community Forest located in Haldibari Rural Municipality-3 of Jhapa, was killed by a wild elephant in the forest.
According to Khagendra Rijal, Information Officer of District Police Office, Jhapa, the 40-year-old Forester, who was in the forest for the maintenance of the community forest, was trampled by a wild elephant when he was alone around 9 am today.
Rijal said that the forester, who was attacked by the elephant, died on the spot. According to him, after receiving the news of the incident, the police team of District Police Office, Police Station Bhadrapur and Police Station Jalthal have reached the spot.
The scene in the incident has been secured as the investigation and legal process have been started. A week ago, 72-year-old Padmalal Tamang died when a wild elephant attacked a Bhutanese refugee camp in Beldangi, Damak.
