Dec 01, Kathmandu- Bill 2080 to amend and unify education laws has been sent to the House of Representatives, Education, Health and Instructional Technology Committee.
The Parliament Secretariat compiled the proposals registered for amendment and sent them to the committee for discussion. According to the Secretariat sources, the proposals registered for amendment were compiled and sent to the committee yesterday. Sources said that the CompaL from the Parliament Secretariat will be taken to the House of Representatives after the committee has discussed with the parliamentarians who registered the amendment proposal and sent the report to the Speaker.
The source said, "The committee will discuss with the proposed parliamentarians and stakeholders and after sending the report with suggestions to the Speaker, it will be presented to the House of Representatives". After that, the House of Representatives will decide whether the Act will pass or fail. Also, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, has instructed the committee to discuss and submit a report to the next meeting of the House of Representatives.
The Minister of Education Ashok Rai submitted the School Education Act Bill to the Parliament on August 26 at the Federal Parliament Secretariat after the Council of Ministers meeting held on Thursday 21st August decided to submit it. More than 154 amendment proposals were registered on the School Education Bill 2080 registered in Parliament.
