Dec 02, Kathmandu- Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has called upon world leaders to walk together to protect the Himalayas, the Himalayan ecosystem, and the sustainable future of the Himalayan people.
"Himalayan: Who will save us from the climate crisis?" held in the UAE while participating in the COP conference.
In a high-level meeting on the subject, Prime Minister Dahal said that Nepal has faced the crisis caused by climate change earlier than others. Prime Minister Dahal said, "Yes, it is true that at present climate change affects the colour, caste, social welfare of the people and the economic condition of the country disproportionately."
As the Prime Minister of Nepal, I would like to appeal to the international community to support the campaign "Save our mountains to save ourselves". I think it's best to start a dialogue about mountains and climate change to understand the pain of hill communities, find possible solutions and get out of the problem.
He clarified that the purpose of his program is to protect and promote the Himalayas, the Himalayan civilisation, the Himalayan ecosystem and the inhabitants of the Himalayas and to achieve cooperation and solidarity in facing the common challenges caused by climate change in the Himalayas.
