University Opened After Being Locked For Three Weeks

Feb 08, Kathmandu- Due to political will and interference, the lock of Madhesh Agricultural University located in Rajbiraj Municipality-3 three weeks ago was opened on Thursday.

After realizing the weakness of the university and deciding to coordinate and cooperate with all the political parties and the administration in the future, the Janamat Party agreed to open the lock.

Chief District Officer Kiran Thapa said that regarding the demands raised in the memorandum given by Janamat Party during the lockdown, the university has agreed to publish the report within a month.

Baidyanath Mahato, vice-chancellor of the university, said that the lock was opened after three points were agreed between the university officials and the local administration along with the main political parties. CPN (UML) Saptari Secretary Devnath Yadav informed that an agreement was reached in the all-party talks held at the District Coordination Committee in Rajviraj.

Due to the lockdown, students were deprived of their daily lessons and the work of enrolling new students was also affected. Vice-Chancellor Mahato informed that 50 students are currently studying in the second year of Bachelor of Agricultural Science in the said university and the order of 50 new admissions has been increased.
