24 Percent Of Increment In Cybercrime Of India

Feb 09, Kathmandu- India has reported an increase of over 24 percent in cyber crime in 2022 compared to 2021. Compared to 2020, the data shows that it has increased by 31 percent.

In 2022, the southern state of Telangana accounted for the highest number of 15,297 cyber crimes. There are 12,556 crimes in the southern state of Karnataka and 10,117 in Uttar Pradesh. Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Kumar Mishra said in Parliament that the federal government has taken various initiatives to manage all types of cyber crimes in the country in a coordinated and comprehensive manner.

He said that the federal government has so far blocked more than 320,000 SIM cards and 49,000 International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) for controlling cyber crime. The minister said that the federal government has also taken initiatives to spread awareness about cyber crime.
