Feb 11, Kathmandu- 'Indian Idol' famed Nepali singer Menuka Paudel will make her Bollywood debut as a playback singer in Sanjay Mishra starrer 'Karma Meets Kismat'.
According to Indian news agency IANS on Sunday, this film will be written and directed by Geetanjali Sinha.
This film will feature famous actor Mishra along with Farida Jalal, Alka Amin, Vaishnavi Macdonald, Amman Khan and Nupur Sharma. Sonu Nigam and Sadhana Sargam will also sing songs in this film.
Menuka had previously made her debut as a playback singer in a South Indian film with 'Salar'. 'Karma Meets Kismat' will be his second Indian project.
According to the news, Menuka has already recorded the song for this film. Sharing her experience through singing, Menuka told the agency, "I am very impressed with the love and blessings that this beautiful path has opened for me. This is a great blessing for the film. Its story has inspired me deeply. This romantic Sufi song is a masterpiece that goes straight to the heart, reminding us of love in its purest form".
Explaining the reason for choosing Menuka for the song, director Sinha said, "The sincerity and purity of Menuka's voice drew me towards her like a magnet. It is for this reason that she touches the hearts of millions around the world".
Menuka is in Kathmandu at the moment. Last week, she was eliminated from the competition of the best 10 of Indian Idol. She has said that she will be touring in America, UK, Mauritius, South Africa and other countries from April. She has also said that in the future, India will be her workland.
