Sister And Husband Of The Woman Arrested In The Case Of Child Theft Are Freed From Custody

Feb 25, Kathmandu- The husband and sister of the woman Mana Kumari Singh, who was arrested in the case of stealing a baby from the charity maternity home and gynaecology hospital in Thapathali, have been released from custody.

SP Navraj Adhikari of District Police Complex, Kathmandu informed that the two persons were released as their involvement in the child theft incident was not seen. The arrested woman is currently undergoing treatment at KMC Hospital, Sinamangal. A 26-day-old baby of a woman from Kavre went missing around 12 noon on Friday. Soon after, District Police Complex, Kathmandu and Valley Crime Investigation Office started the investigation by collecting closed circuit (CC) camera footage. During that time, a woman wearing a mask was found walking with an infant. At midnight on Friday, the police found the lion in Kandaghari and also rescued the baby.

According to an officer of District Police Complex, Kathmandu, her pregnancy was lost just a few days ago. As the family told the police, she was 7 months pregnant. However, she was paranoid after not having children. It has been found that she also lied to her husband about this. Her husband, who is on Nepali Army duty, also came to the house after informing about the birth of a child.

According to the police, after the investigation, they were not involved in the incident with her and Manakumari's sister.
