Meeting Between British Ambassador Fenn With Home Minister Lamichhane

Mar 28, Kathmandu- British Ambassador to Nepal Rob Fenn has met with Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane. Home Minister Lamichhane's secretariat informed that during the meeting held on Thursday at Singha Durbar, the relations between the two countries and areas of cooperation between Nepal and Britain in the future were discussed.

British Ambassador to Nepal Rob Fenn went to Singha Durbar to meet with Home Minister Lamichhane. During the meeting, the Home Minister expressed his gratitude for the support, cooperation and coordination provided by the UK in Nepal's infrastructure development, social upliftment, capacity building of government and non-government agencies, disaster management, recruitment of Gurkha soldiers, etc.

The Home Minister said, "I expect more coordination and cooperation with the British government in strengthening democracy, climate change adaptation, social inclusion, social discrimination and reduction of deprivation".

Home Minister Lamichhane told the ambassador that he was confident that the British government would deal with the issue fairly raised by the Gorkha soldiers by remembering the contribution made by the Gurkha soldiers.

Ambassador Fane assured that the British government would provide grants for the reconstruction of the Jajarkot earthquake and bring a new plan for Nepal's development and construction partnership. The ambassador also said that the development partnership will be eternal.
