Mar 31, Kathmandu- Narendra Maharjan has been elected as the president of Nepal Movie Association, the umbrella organization of exhibitors.

In the 49th annual general meeting and working committee election of the organization held on Saturday, he defeated the candidate for the president, Kubir Sharma. While Sharma got 46 votes, Maharjan got 106 votes.

Karan Shrestha, Gopal Kaji Kayastha, Devendra Khadgi, Govind Shahi, Prajwal Rana, Om Prakash Jaisi, Ashish Tamang, Chhabiraj Ojha, Kapil Prasad Dha, Diprash Shakya, Niraj Gupta, Raj Kumar Shrestha and Surendra Thapa have been elected as members.

It is said that the meeting of the new working committee to be held on Sunday will nominate the vice president, general secretary, treasurer and other positions according to the statute.
