Apr 01, Kathmandu- Sarlahi police have arrested two hundi dealers with 28 lakh rupees. Those arrested are 24-year-old Qamar Raja of Malangwa Municipality 9 and 40-year-old Aarif Ansari of the same Municipality 3.
District Police Office Sarlahi Police Inspector Sabin Karki informed that 27 lakh 75 thousand 970 rupees were recovered from them.
According to him, Raja was carrying a black bag on the road in Malangwa Municipality 9. When the police got suspicious, they found two vouchers of Rs 10 lakh in cash and Rs 990,000 of Laxmi Sunrise Bank.
"When Raja was taken into custody and questioned, he gave a statement that he had taken the phone from the City Mobile shop operated by Ansari", Police Inspector Karki said, "Police went to Ansari's shop with Raja. 17 lakh 75 thousand 990 rupees were recovered there.
Police Inspector Karki said that they could not reveal the source of the seized money. He said that a case has been registered on the charge of being a hundi trader and further investigation has been carried out.
