Apr 09, Kathmandu- In response to the Israeli war in Gaza, Turkey will impose a trade ban on many products, including cement, steel and iron construction materials, from Tuesday, the Ministry of Trade said in a statement.

"This decision will remain in place until Israel immediately declares a cease-fire and allows the adequate and uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza," the ministry announced on social media. Turkey has taken a new step a day after Israel stopped its efforts to provide air support to Gaza.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan vowed retaliation against Israel on Monday, saying the sanctions would be implemented "in stages" and "without delay".

Turkey has been one of the harshest critics of Israel's war on Gaza. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has termed Israel as a "terrorist state".
