Hunger Strike Continues In Maitighar Demanding To Bring Back Nepalese From Russian Army

Apr 19, Kathmandu- Families of those who joined the Russian army have started a hunger strike in Maitighar Mandala, demanding their return.

The family started a hunger strike at Maitighar in Kathmandu on Friday, demanding the return of those who joined the Russian army and lost contact and wanted to return home.

Kritu Bhandari, the coordinator of the awareness campaign for the protection of the lives of the victims' families and citizens, said that the strike was started by 25/30 people.

"We have been forced to go on a strike after the government did not show interest when we repeatedly asked the government to rescue the Nepalis in the Russian army," she said.

According to him, more than a thousand victims who joined the Russian army have come in contact with him. Some people have been out of touch for a long time.

Therefore, the coordinator Kritu Bhandari informed that the hunger strike has been started demanding to bring back those who want to return and search for those who have disappeared.

The families of the victims have been raising their voice for a long time on the streets and in the house demanding the return of their families. On Thursday also, the families of the victims staged an exhibition in front of the south gate of Singha Durbar with their demands.

The families of 12 victims were arrested during the exhibition. They were released only in the evening.
