Private Schools Can't Charge More Than One Month's Fee

Apr 19, Kathmandu- The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has said that it will take action against private schools by charging extra fees for enrolling students, except as per the law.

Schools within the metropolitan city are instructed not to charge more than one month of the monthly student enrollment fee and if they charge more than that, the city will take action according to the law. Apart from this, the metropolis has also instructed the institutional schools not to charge fees for enrolling students who are already enrolled in one class in another class of the same school.

It has been reported that some institutional schools operating in the metropolis have received complaints that they have charged more fees than what is prescribed by the prevailing law in the name of student admission and that they have not charged fees including student admission other than in accordance with the prevailing laws, rules, standards and guidelines.
