Fire Broke Out In Nine Villages Of Rupandehi

Apr 21, Kathmandu- The life of the Terai region has been affected due to lack of rainfall for a long time. Due to lack of water and dry weather, fire broke out in various places of Rupandehi, causing damage to cattle, crops and houses.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Manohar Bhatta, spokesperson of District Police Office Rupandehi, informed that the fire spread to nine villages from Rohini Rural Municipality-6 on Saturday afternoon. As the fire started from the wheat tube and spread due to wind, there was damage in the pre-air through Bishnupura, Parsa, Buchi, Barwa, Tarkulha, Kothwa, Chamkipur.

He said that 40 houses were burnt and 39 goats died, although there were no human casualties in the fire. The fire was extinguished in the evening with the efforts of police, armed police force, Nepali army, fire department of Devdaha municipality and locals.

Spokesperson Bhatta says that fire incidents have occurred from all over the district. Gaidahwa rural municipality has also lost lakhs of rupees in the fire.

Bale Mindra Lodh, a resident of Ward No. 7, Sisain, had a fire in his thatched shed due to an electrical leak. The police office informed that there was a loss of more than three lakh rupees along with the nine goats in the barn.

In Lumbini Cultural Municipality-9 Pipra, the fire that broke out during the burning of wheat stubble in the field reached the Hotel Pawan Palace premises. Spokesperson Bhatta said that there was damage to plywood, clothes, freight, food grains, etc. worth Rs. 7 lakh.
