'Seto Machhindranath' Chariot Festival Concluded

Apr 21, Kathmandu- This year's chariot festival of Seto Machindranath, the god of rain and season, has been completed.

Seto Machindranath's chariot festival started from Tindhara Pathshala at Durbarmarg from 'Chaitra Shukla Ashtami' and ended this year after the deity's idol was brought into the Janbahal temple on Chaitra Shukla Dwadashi (night of 8th Baisakh).

Keeping the culture and tradition alive, the chariot festival was grandly organized from the planning to the completion of the Main Ceremony Management Committee, volunteers, city dwellers and devotees, security personnel, media personnel, the main priest of the temple, the coordinator of the Jatra Management Main Ceremony Committee and the MP of the area Ganesh Parajuli was the main activity.

With the completion of the chariot festival, Ganesh Parajuli, a Member of the House of Representatives of Kathmandu 7, offered 'Prasad' to the Prime Minister and asked him to work on the development plan by linking the Festival celebrated in Kathmandu Valley with tourism promotion.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Prachanda expressed his happiness that the festival was a success, saying that some new arrangements will be made.
