Seventeen Thousand Eye Surgeries At Geta Eye Hospital

Apr 23, Kathmandu- Geta Eye Hospital located in Godavari Municipality-5 Geta of Kailali has performed eye surgery on more than 17 thousand people in nine months.

The hospital, along with other hospitals and surgical centers under it, have performed eye surgery on 17,480 patients from Shrawan to th end of Chaitra of the current financial year.

Govinda Prasad Joshi, information officer of Geta Eye Hospital, informed that 12,385 people had cataract surgery and 5,23 people with other problems had their eyes operated. During the same period, 1 lakh 88 thousand 35 people have received eye treatment services.

According to information officer Joshi, the hospital operated under the Nepal Ophthalmology Association provides treatment and surgery services through three additional second-level eye hospitals, two surgical centers and 21 eye treatment centers in Sudhurpaschim Province.

Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Sureshraj Panta, said that around 400 patients come for treatment in the main hospital every day, 30 percent of them are Indians and 60 percent are Indian nationals for surgery. Pant informed that 70 to 80 patients are undergoing eye surgery here every day.

According to Dr. Panta, more patients come to the hospital with cataracts, cataracts, nanny's problems, dropsy, glasses problems, and treatment and surgery services are also provided through the camp.

Last year, 270 thousand 496 people received medical treatment from the hospital, 24 thousand 761 people underwent eye surgery.
