16th Plan: 40 National Prosperity Goals (with list)

Apr 25, Kathmandu- In the 16th Plan (Fiscal Year 2081/82-2085/86), the government has set 40 national goals for prosperity. The plan will be implemented for five years from this Shrawan.

In the last year of the plan, 2085/86, the economic growth rate of 7.1 percent, per capita gross domestic product from the current 1495 to 2381 and per capita income from the current 1410 to 2413 USD have been set in the plan.

The Commission has estimated that the average economic growth rate will be 6.6 percent in the five years of the plan period. The government has also projected that Nepal's gross domestic product (GDP) will reach 9 trillion 133 billion at the base price by 2085/86.

According to the Commission, a total investment of 1 Nil 40 40 trillion 98 billion rupees will be required in five years to achieve the goals of the plan. The commission is discussing the 16th plan today (Thursday) in the National Development Council meeting.

In the plan, 40 goals have been set, 10 for good governance, 10 for social justice and 20 for prosperity.
